ALLERGIES

Allergy is a pathological defense reaction of the immune system to foreign but harmless environmental substances (allergens).

Depending on the pathogen, the associated symptoms vary. Allergic hay fever, for example, can cause constant sneezing, itchy mucous membranes, stuffy nose and irritated and/or watery eyes, while atopic dermatitis is an allergic skin disease and is accompanied by itching and redness of the skin as well as a scaly appearance.
